Protect your vehicle from the underside up.
Our two-step hybrid undercoating system combines a more permanent black rubberized coating on static, rigid undercarriage components with a lanolin-based oil and wax coating on the chassis, frame, suspension, and other areas where a flexible protective coating makes more sense.
Two coatings. Each used where it works best.
Not every part underneath a vehicle should be coated the same way. Rigid structures and moving mechanical components have completely different requirements.
We use a black rubberized undercoating on static, rigid components such as the unibody for durable, long-term protection and a clean finished appearance. The chassis, frame, moving suspension components, and corrosion-prone areas receive our lanolin-based oil and wax coating, which stays flexible and serviceable.
Two Products. Two Purposes. Better Coverage.
Our hybrid system separates the undercarriage into areas that benefit from a durable, more permanent coating and areas that require a flexible, serviceable rust-inhibiting coating.
Black Rubberized Undercoating
Our black rubberized undercoating is used on static, rigid components such as the vehicle’s unibody and appropriate fixed underbody surfaces. It creates a durable, more permanent protective barrier while giving the underside of the vehicle a clean black finished appearance.
- Applied to appropriate static and rigid components
- Ideal for unibody and fixed underbody surfaces
- More permanent long-term protection
- Helps protect against moisture, grime, and road exposure
- Clean black appearance that looks great long term
Lanolin Oil & Wax Undercoating
The vehicle’s chassis, frame, moving suspension components, and sensitive corrosion-prone areas receive a flexible oil and wax-based coating containing lanolin. Unlike the rubberized coating, this protection can be removed with hot pressure water when mechanical work is required and reapplied afterward.
- Applied to chassis and frame components
- Ideal for appropriate moving suspension parts
- Oil and wax-based formula containing lanolin
- Flexible protection for sensitive mechanical areas
- Can be removed for cleaner mechanical service and reapplied
Permanent where you want it. Serviceable where you need it.
A vehicle’s unibody, frame, chassis, and suspension do not all benefit from the same type of coating. Our two-step system gives each area the style of protection that best suits how that component is built, moves, and is serviced.
Long-Term Finish
Black rubberized undercoating gives appropriate static areas a durable, more permanent barrier with a clean black cosmetic finish.
Frame & Chassis
Chassis and frame components receive the flexible lanolin-based oil and wax coating for corrosion protection without permanently covering serviceable areas.
Suspension Friendly
The oil and wax coating can be used on appropriate moving suspension components where a hard, permanent coating would not be our preferred approach.
Mechanic Friendly
When repair work is needed, the oily/wax coating can be cleaned away using hot pressure water, allowing easier, cleaner mechanical work before being reapplied.
A smart service for vehicles that actually get driven.
Hybrid undercoating is especially useful for vehicles exposed to winter driving, gravel roads, work use, moisture, and year-round Canadian conditions.
Protect It Early
New vehicles are excellent candidates for preventative underbody protection before years of road exposure and corrosion have a chance to build up.
Work & Daily Driving
Great for trucks and SUVs exposed to gravel, dirt, work sites, winter roads, moisture, and everyday driving.
Year-Round Protection
Cars and daily drivers can benefit too, especially vehicles used throughout every Kamloops season.
The right coating in the right areas.
Instead of simply spraying one product over the entire undercarriage, we separate the vehicle into rigid structural areas and serviceable mechanical areas and apply the appropriate protection to each.
Inspect
We inspect the undercarriage and identify the unibody, chassis, frame, suspension, and other areas that will receive protection.
Prepare
Appropriate underbody surfaces are prepared before either protective coating is applied.
Rubberized Protection
Static, rigid areas such as the unibody receive the more permanent black rubberized coating for durable protection and a clean finished appearance.
Lanolin Protection
The chassis, frame, appropriate moving suspension parts, and other sensitive areas receive the flexible lanolin-based oil and wax protection.
Hybrid Undercoating & Rust Protection
One complete underbody protection service combining a durable black rubberized coating on static, rigid components with flexible lanolin-based oil and wax protection on the chassis, frame, and appropriate suspension components.
- Undercarriage inspection
- Preparation of areas being treated
- Black rubberized coating on appropriate static and rigid areas
- Long-term black cosmetic finish on coated surfaces
- Lanolin-based oil and wax chassis and frame protection
- Protection for appropriate moving suspension components
- Final inspection after application
Hybrid Undercoating FAQ
A few common questions about our two-step underbody protection system.
What does “hybrid undercoating” mean?
It means we use two different types of protection. A black rubberized undercoating is applied to appropriate static, rigid components such as the unibody. A lanolin-based oil and wax coating is used on the chassis, frame, appropriate moving suspension parts, and other serviceable areas.
Why not use rubberized coating everywhere?
Rubberized coating is more permanent and works very well on appropriate rigid surfaces, but we don’t want a hard permanent coating covering every chassis and suspension component. The flexible oil and wax coating allows those areas to remain easier to inspect, clean, and service.
What happens when mechanical work is needed?
One advantage of the lanolin-based oil and wax coating is that it can be removed from the repair area using hot pressure water. This gives the mechanic a cleaner area to work on, and the protective coating can then be reapplied after the repair is complete.
Can you treat a vehicle that already has some rust?
In many cases, yes. The undercarriage needs to be inspected first. Undercoating is a protective treatment and does not repair severe or structural corrosion.
